Ayurveda- ancient food modern times

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup basmati rice
1 cup mung dal (split yellow)
6 cups (approx.) water
1/2 to 1 inch ginger root, chopped or grated
A bit of mineral salt (1/4 tsp. or so)
2 tsp. ghee
1/2 tsp. coriander powder
1/2 tsp. cumin powder
1/2 tsp. whole cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
Handful of fresh cilantro leaves
1 and 1/2 cups assorted vegetables (optional)

PREPARATION

Add 6 cups of water to the rice and dal and cook covered until it becomes soft, about 20 minutes. 

While that is cooking, prepare any vegetables that suit your constitution. Cut them into smallish pieces. Add the vegetables to the cooked rice and dal mixture and cook 10 minutes longer.

In a separate saucepan, sauté the seeds in the ghee until they pop. Then add the other spices. Stir together to release the flavors. Stir the sautéed spices into the cooked dal, rice, and vegetable mixture. Add the mineral salt and chopped fresh cilantro and serve.

 When in Rome do as Romans... yes and when you are planning on visiting Miami for the biggest, greatest week of all.. Art Basel/ Art Miami/ and and and ... you have a gallery in Wynwood that holds your Trash-Fashions totally wearable and laud, unique pieces of art...  and vegan I might said as well...for sell or for me to design your own crazy piece... then you prepare to do just gorilla marketing... and have fun and let yourself be inspired by it all...why not????
Everyone is out there... from Egypt to Europe to South America... to Mars....!!!! so I might as well put on a show on the go.... and friends ... yes lovely friends are coming with me to showcase some pieces of Trash-Fashions on their Naked Bodies... loveeeee loveee and I'm so SO Supper blessed to have these cool - free minded friends...!!!

When in doubt... I do my art with Trash!!!

I don't know why but I always put my focus on exploring beyond the original usage of elements... wouldn't be easier if I just bought what I need and create from that something new and fresh? No in my mind... I have to use that piece that someone put in a pile to be discarded or at least get it at a thrift shop because No I do not go to the mall either... I'm thankful that I get the chance to use my hands and imagination to the fullest!!!
